In a very interesting turn of events today, Android aficionado TheDroidGuy has gotten a hold of some information that may change the way Verizon subscribers use their Android phone forever. With the release of the Samsung Fascinate online, came the expected news that Bing search services would come set as the default search provider for the device; Shouldn’t be shocking considering it was announced during the Galaxy S event a couple months back and, well, it’s been done before (see: AT&T). What is shocking however, is this possibility: Verizon may be dumping Google in favor of Bing for good

  We were certain about Samsung launching Galaxy Tab in India but could it be this early?

  As expected , Samsung’s Fascinate for Verizon is now available online via Verizon’s official site. The phone goes for $199.99 on a 2-year contract with $100 mail-in rebate and is also eligible for Verizon’s Buy One, Get One Free offer. Fascinate features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz CPU, Swype, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, 3G Mobile Hotspot and support for various Verizon services

It’s kind of odd that we have known the price ( $199 ) and release date for the Fascinate for some time now, yet Verizon and Samsung are still quiet on the subject. Well they still aren’t saying much, but at least their commercials are

If you just can’t wait to get your hand’s on Verizon’s gadget from the Samsung Galaxy S series , or you’re just a lover of high-end live wallpapers, check out this post over at Android Police where all six of Sammy’s animated wallpapers that ship with the Fascinate are posted for download. The instructions indicate that you need a custom recovery in order to flash the zip, which will install all six of the LWPs

The first day of IFA Germany has been huge for Android.

One day after Bing was announced for Verizon Androids, and around the same time that the complete Samsung Fascinate manual was leaked, several photos of VZW’s own Galaxy S surfaced, running Bing. An anonymous tipster hit BGR with the following snaps, and the site is still pressing him or her for details on device specs, specifically, the amount of RAM, which has been going back and forth between 384 and 512. Verizon is expected to launch the Samsung Fascinate in about a week.

Word is coming in today that Samsung is sending out invites to a special mobile event planned for the 16th of September. Exactly what will be discussed at said event is still a mystery. Considering that the Fascinate is due out by the 9th , and that’s the only known high-end Sammy headed State-side, we are inclined to believe this may be the US reveal of the Samsung Tab

We learned yesterday that Samsung was quite likely working on different variants of their Samsung Galaxy Tab for at least two different carriers in the States, and thanks to a new photoleak of Verizon’s internal system over at BGR , we can say for sure that the tablet is definitely headed for Big Red. Yesterday’s image indicated that the Tab would be shipping with CDMA technology, but many read the designation as an indication that a GSM flavor is out there as well
