Samsung powers LTE plans for LG U+ and SK Telecom in South Korea

  LG U+ had announced its LTE network on July 1 along with a LTE router and now Samsung has confirmed to help SK Telecom as well roll out 4G LTE services. SK Telecom’s LTE solution is available now in Seoul and expects to expand to 82 other cities by 2013. Samsung also explains the tech used behind SK Telecom’s LTE solution, which will be Smart LTE in the initial stages to optimize mobile data traffic.

Samsung Electronics conducts 42nd AGM in South Korea, pledges to maintain sales growth

  Samsung Electronics held its mandatory 42nd Annual General Meeting at its headquarters in Seoul. Samsung reiterated its financial results from 2010 where the Korean giant’s full-year revenue reached an all-time high of 154.63 trillion won, 13-percent up from the previous year and consolidate net income reaching 16.15 trillion won. “Even amid continuing effects of the global financial crisis, Samsung was last year able to achieve its highest sales and net income since our establishment in 1969,” said Geesung Choi, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics.” 2010 was a year in which we came out on top in the electronics industry and strengthened our position as a leading global company.” Samsung’s Choi also said that they’ll look to “maintain its sales growth momentum from last year” and will try to strengthen their leadership in LCD panels, mobile devices and flat panel TVs.
